Title: Does not seem like a textbook

Review: Reading this book I had a lot of fun! At the beginning of each chapter there is a case of a real life true example of what will be discussed throughout the rest of the chapter. Each chapter is organized and easy to follow in more of a story plot way that a textbook way.

There are lots of graphs which I found complemented the text very well. The whole book is like a history timeline of ERPs so it helped me understand why ERPs are the way they are and why/how they developed and evolved to where they are now.

There are times when I felt that there was not enough detail, as if I was reading about information at too much of a high level, and other times I was glad this was not a technical book. This book would be great for providing basic historical information for those who may not be well versed in all the technical terms of the trade and want to know the affects ERPs have on and within a company.

Review: I rented this e-Textbook for a graduate-level course. This second edition has many errors -- not misspellings but sentences where words are missing or sentences that are in direct conflict with other sentences (very confusing). Many of the case examples presented seem to be incomplete (like they are missing the conclusion). There are several instances where references within the book are invalid. For example, in one of the later chapters in the book (maybe chapter 8?), there is a statement like "this topic will be further explained in Chapter 4" instead of "this topic was already explained in Chapter 4." There are also multiple instances where there is a reference to a figure that doesn't match what the text is saying.

I hope the authors are working on a 3rd edition to make corrections and that they are using a better editor.

Title: Clear, concise information, great choice for the class, and great price from Amazon.

Review: This is a very informative book for the basics of the subject. It is easy to read and understand, and defines and explains everything clearly. This was a requirement for one of my university classes, and I feel it was a good decision by the professor to use this book. As per usual, Amazon offered it at a fraction of the cost of the bookstore at school.

Title: Lot of concepts in a tiny book.

Review: I have about 9 years of experience in the ERP world (SAP) and i had to use this book for my MBA. I think this book is organized really well with a opening and a closing real world caseS in every chapter to reinforce the understanding also be able to apply the concepts in the chapter. There are chapters that talk about cloud ERP, system integration, project management specifically focusing on ERP etc which i think helped me understand the new trends in ERP and also direction it is taking. This book definitely helped me fill up some of the gaps in knowledge that i had over these years.

Review: Book is in great shape but is tiny for the cost (American education...) it took a long time to get here though. I am in a military base in the Pacific and somehow it ended up in Germany and having to get rerouted to me.

Title: Not compatible with windows 8

Review: Incompatible with windows 8. When I purchased this, I purchased the kindle version. When I tried to view it on my computer, I was informed that it is not available for windows 8. They need to inform people before purchase about availability/compatibility with software versions. I am not able to use the version purchased on my computer for class now.
