Review: I only chose two stars because the book does not give very sufficient information about the musculo-skeltal system- it lacks detail and does not include any origins of muscle, also there are not enough diagrams. I would rather recommend buying a different dissection textbook if some one is looking to buy a book for studying muscle and skeletal features.

Review: This is the third edition of an outstanding textbook written by three veterinary anatomists of exceptional talent and many years of experience. This is one of the few veterinary anatomy textbooks available that addresses multiple species of veterinary interest; it includes sections on canine, equine, ruminant, porcine and avian anatomy. The first half of the text takes a systems approach, covering the comparative anatomy of different organ systems. The second half of the book takes a regional approach to anatomy, with different species treated separately and in detail. The authors also make frequent reference to the clinical significance of anatomical facts.Figures are abundant and excellent, and this latest edition has added more color plates. Few extant textbooks of veterinary anatomy rival this one for the quality and comprehensiveness of illustrations.The Textbook of Veterinary Anatomy can remain a significant reference text to the veterinary student (especially those with multi-species interests) throughout his or her curriculum, as it is a remarkably comprehensive book for its compact size.

Review: At first I found this book difficult to appreciate and get into - but once I did I found that it was extremely useful. There aren't too many other vet anatomy textbooks with as much detail. However, the text can be dull and there are only a limited number of color photos. So I would recommend using this book along with other vet anatomy textbooks which provide better pictures.
